In a nutshell

On-demand multicategory delivery unicorn Glovo and InsurTech Qover are pleased to announce their partnership designed to enhance the protection of Glovo’s couriers. This announcement follows the launch of ‘The Couriers Pledge’, a global initiative to increase the social rights and benefits available to couriers.

Qover’s insurance solution is fully aligned with Glovo’s mission: leveraging the latest technology to give people easy access to everything in their city.

Today, Glovo has more than 74,000 couriers and Qover now offers insurance products protecting all couriers under its coverage against accidents. And that's not all: Glovo will soon offer guarantees to protect riders in case of incapacity due to illness or hospital stay, as well as providing cover for maternity and paternity for new parents and urgent family expenses – a first in the gig economy.

Sacha Michaud, Glovo Co-founder, said: “Qover provides one of the best digital insurance solutions in the industry and they’re a perfect partner for us on what we consider to be one of the most important initiatives we’ve launched. At Glovo, we have always been in favour of providing our couriers with access to greater social rights, no matter their contractual relationship. By 2023 we expect to be collaborating with around 240,000 couriers on a monthly basis worldwide and we are committed to providing them with better social rights, protection and coverage.”

What’s more, this unique solution is fully digitalised to provide an outstanding user experience on a global scale. Not only are riders automatically covered while using the Glovo app, but they also have access to a dedicated portal with useful information regarding their coverage in their local language – including a summary, legal documents and FAQs. Riders can also access an automated claims form through the portal, so they can easily report a claim and receive real-time feedback.

‘We are honoured to be part of “The Couriers Pledge”,’ said Quentin Colmant, CEO and Co-founder of Qover. ‘At Qover, we are hyper-focused on finding new ways to empower disruptive gig economy players with the insurance solutions and insights they need to attract and retain more talent.’
